LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE

First Look

Student Leader, September 2016-November 2016

  • Introduced College Experience to Middle school students by talking to small groups about personal experiences with residential life, sports, clubs, and the students and faculty at UNC
  • Informed Middle school students about how to get to college by discussing with groups the grades and extracurricular activities that are needed during middle school and high school to prepare for college life
  • Convinced children that college is an option for them by discussing how grants, scholarships, and loans can be used to pay for college and relating the middle school experiences of current college students
  • Provided engaging tours of UNC’s campus for middle school students by answering any questions and showing students the most exciting parts of campus, all while providing insight of the college student life

UNC Heritage Speaker Program

Bilingual Teaching Assistant, September 2016-November 2016

  • Assisted teacher by performing tasks to create the best learning environment and experience for students
  • Spoke only Spanish with 4th grade students to encourage students to practice Spanish in class
